Skipping CPs to attack players at the objective

This is something I've been very aggravated by lately. Up until very recently I think there was only one player doing it, but now that I've seen more than one, I thought it was high time to start a discussion.

So, here's the issue: players in race cutting checkpoints to get to the objective, then attacking cars that are legitimately on track. In most race scenarios you'll have the car reaching the objective down on repairs and shields (often none of either, if it's a competitive match), and they have no chance of surviving attack by a fresh bender. It's a very unfair tactic, and in my opinion it's a form of cheating, since checkpoints exist to prevent people cutting the course.

Basically, my question is why is this legal, and is there any chance of the admins reconsidering whether it should be? I am strongly of the opinion that this is a form of glitching and very unfair to the car that actually put in the work to get to the objective first.

It is not legal but it was never a problem, players mostly prefer to play game instead of this boredom like doing nothing half of map.

So who are we talking about?

I can think of 2 one map, watercity and one i dont know the name of (the one with a big gate in the middle of map).

I don't see an issue. What you gonna do when you're out of shield 1/4 of track on heavenace and I come bash you with raptor? Or manta @ triangle of blood?

1b) Do not glitch. Play the maps as they are intended to be played.
So being first at objective after missing CP is already illegal.

Maps are balanced, air vehicles have not so much hp and can be easily destroyed by several shots while fighting against car with full hp, repairs and shields after completing track is really not fair

But attempts to explain to nardaq that glitching is bad are same as explaining 3 years old kid that sweets and chocolate are harmful for health

The biggest problem about this is on White Citadel where a car can easily jump to the objective especially objective #2. A map fix could solve it, if any mapper around would accept to look at it... which is hard to find. Knoffer is MIA and Doge is being a lazy butt :P

It's really east to put in a blocking volume that would stop that... No more that ten minutes to fix. My gaming rig is here with me but not online, I have the map but unfortunately as I reinstalled ut2k4 I don't have all the necessary files in my cache to extract then send a complete map back.

C/pts would take longer tho.

I think I can fix the maps with properly placed CP's
Just post the shortcuts here (maybe with screenshots) and I'll take a look at it

White Citadel (obj #2) and Desert Race (objs #2 & #3) are the main two where it happens. Basically, any time it's possible to easily reach the objective from early on the course by cutting CPs.
