New server is online

Post by Pinky » Sat 20 Sep , 2014 1:54 pm

A new Minecraft server is now back online.

There have been some changes compared to the old the server:

- The map has not been pre-generated. Instead, you can again explore the map. A random seed has been used, i.e. not even the admins know what exactly the map will look like. There is, however, a world border in place to limit the map size (it is fairly large, though).
- To facilitate the use of the Nether again, warp signs are not used anymore. Exceptions can be made for the old map where no Nether is available.
- The old world is set to creative. However, only old members can place blocks there. It is more considered a museum now. If you want your buildings to be transferred to the new map, please let us know.
- Protections are now handled exclusively via WorldGuard for the moment. Members are able to create their own protections and configure some flags. You can protect a total volume of 110000000 blocks. This roughly corresponds to an area of 650x650 from the bottom to the top of the world. The number of protections is limited to 5, however, how you distribute the protectable volume is up to you. Information on how to use WorldGuard can be found here: https://ldg-gaming.eu/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=2955
- To allow old members replacing the lost buildings, they can set the creative flag within their protections over the next weeks. However, please don’t abuse the creative mode by, for example, making unreasonable stuff (e.g. a huge pile of diamond blocks). We will remove such things immediately. You can also build something in the creative world and ask us to transfer it to the main world.
- A new member structure has been implemented. We now have Guests, Builders, and Members. Members replace the old VIP class and can be aquired by playing on the server over an extended period of time (four months or more).
