To add light, set all sides of the big cube to fake backdrop (right click on the cube wall, click on surface properties, and click on the fake background box). Then add a sunlight actor (Actors, Lighting, Sunlight) in the corner of the map, pointing to the middle of the cube. Do not mess around with skyboxes until you know more about how the editor works...
