In case our friends don't know this movie: Kin-Dza-Dza. Unusual funny, yet very sad sci-fi movie with big satire to soviet politic.

Staying in line with the Soviet films, here is a real masterpiece. Directed by the famous Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, it was one of only three Soviet films to win an Oscar...

Didnt know about it before, Pinky.

In general, I wouldnt refuse to watch films from other countries too. German, Italian, French, Spanish, English, etc.
We have not only Hollywood around.

Here is Chapaev. Its about our Russian Civil war of 1917 famous hero.

Oh, yea, that's a great film, Pinky!

I would suggest watching Kim Ki-duk's films. "Time" for example. It's psychologic drama about couple, who lost themselves. Pretty mindtwisting.

I was not here for long time. Maybe you will be interested for one more film.
Its soviet propaganda film from 1964 about bourgeois traitor boy, who betrayed homeland for a barrel of jam and basket of cookies.
Outstandingly hilarious, especially when watching nowadays.
