Really you should be investing in a 1920x1080 monitor with >144hz refresh rate and <2ms response time instead of inane shit like Goytel vs. AMD vs. NVIDYA. The monitor is what you'll be looking at 99% of the time anyway. Get Windows 8.0 and you'll be set (8.1 and 10 have awful input lag).

Advising Windows 8 for a gaming machine is horrible advice. Windows 10 is the only one with DX12 support.

If future proofing the build is the goal, why would you go with an ancient OS?

Where you see my initial setup costing 2000? more like 1000 but okey. (ya, no need to point that out its over 800, i said already 2011-3 is not the cheapest socket) O=
The idea is to upgrade it and buy a secondhand faster CPU in the future for about $250 lasting another 4 years (not forgetting the GPU)

So is a 400 pound setup. I'm pointing out for a long term setup, which wont need a replacement after 4 years.

My experience/opintion is to stay away from "OC" GPU's and ATI. Nothing but trouble. (artifacts and shitty drivers) Nvidia all the way. joinha

you don't need a beast cpu for a "longterm setup", lotsa people still play with the 2500k... you're just wasting your money because games prefer an high ipc cpu than
"moar corez!!!"

the nvidia/amd shit is pretty subjective, nvidia releases tons of shitty drivers too
