There aren't always "The Racers" and "The Assaulters".
I love both Race and Assault (and I'm sure there are more people like that), I think the current vote system is very good although I would like to check out how random voting works too.
Depends. There are a couple of faces that deskflip.jpg instantly when AS is votedIzumo_CZ wrote:No, RACE players don't quit immediatelly.

Or worse, If a crap AS map is voted then it feels like your waiting through 8 maps :\Socio wrote:Play one good AS map and the you have to sit through 4 maps which can in which there can be 40 minutes OLDZ on Nightmare. Great fun!.
The 0.10 AS penalty has nothing to do with the maps.Azarael wrote:The AS penalty is designed to stop successions of good maps (which can be stacked and which raisers don't like). Allowing maps which raisers do like and AS players don't to induce the good map penalty is unfair.
OLDZ is good as long as it adds players to AS / RACE and not existing for itself. It worked during the AS / RACE split, don't see why it would not help now.Azarael wrote:OLDZ is not a way to populate the server. OLDZ noobs quit en masse the minute OLDZ is left. OLDZ would have to be made permanent in order to keep such scrubs, which would essentially say that all the work we have collectively done to try to improve the gametype was wasted on raisers, who only want shit. They may be the majority, but the day they're allowed to drag everyone else back into the stone age is the day I'll be losing interest.
