Nickname: ~Dredd«
GUID: 402b82ef77d15e174a5d8681df824bfe
Reason: Nazi-related (use of Sieg Heil and comparison to Nazis)
> ~Dredd«-: sieg heil grammar nazis

Offensive phrasing and gestures are highly frowned upon on LDG. They are extremely offensive in some cultures. To quote the wiki;
Today in Germany, Nazi salutes in written form, vocally, and even straight-extending the right arm as a saluting gesture (with or without the phrase), are illegal.[53][54] It is a criminal offense punishable by up to three years of prison (Strafgesetzbuch section 86a)
While we may not be a German based server, a number of the players here are German, so it's a mark of respect to avoid using such offensive language around them and other players.

The rules on Nazi related gestures are quite clear. Unfortunately for you, it is a permanent ban.

You may appeal to the admin who issued the ban, and if you make a valid case, the ban may be reduced.

Since Im German, Id like to say a few things to this:

The expression "grammar nazi" as a standalone is sometimes used in germany to express someones grammar fetish. You could compare to a sitatuion when someone uses the expression "you are a smart ass" instead of using something nicer. Its not something you would get mad over but its not really nice if you say it either, obviously.

On the other had "Sieg Heil" (or even just "Heil") with or without any additional words is a no-go. If you say that out loud it public or around people who dont know you they will look at you strangely and in some cases probably even offend you or call the police.

Acceptance of "Grammar Nazi" has gradually been declining over the past years as it's considered excessive.

The main reason for the ban is the "Sieg Heil" part, that's a no-go.

"Grammar Nazi" has mixed opinions in admin staff. We're currently debating that, I personally am a bit annoyed by that, but won't ban in any case.

Just throwing this one out as it does look like problem wasnt resolved yet.
I think that instant permanent banning people for a nazism chat offence is waaaay too extreme, especialy when he didnt meant that in an offensive way (like some individuals did aim towards our German players). Lets have common sence, someone insulted someone "fucking ni***ers", get 7 days, here someone says "si*g h*il" and get banned permanently. I think the second one is a lot more offensive. Right? kiddingme
Also I dont remember having problems with Deus before, other then his constant deusing in the past trollface

Well the original ban was 7 days before I corrected giZmo trollface

Being a non-German I don't find it offensive in the slightest, so I don't know their feels.

Maybe they are feeling generous

From Wikipedia:
The Nazi salute or Hitler salute (German: Hitlergruß – literally Hitler Greeting) was a gesture of greeting in Nazi Germany. Usually, the person offering the salute would say "Heil Hitler!" (Hail Hitler!), "Heil, mein Führer!" (Hail, my leader!), or "Sieg Heil!" (Hail victory!).

Use of this salute is currently a criminal offence in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic
