Stayin' Alive?

Earlier today, i was sniping with the railgun. Aberiu came up behind me and killed me fair and square. But then, because i was on a ramp, i slid off. Because we were playing on Buliywf, i fell off the world. However, i respawned, alive a short distance away from were i was killed. Could someone explain this please?

If you take lethal world damage while frozen, you are teleported to the nearest playerstart, alive.

OK. Cheers, was a bit weird to die then suddenly, BAM, no, wait never mind, i'm alive.

This also happened to me once. We were playing on a snowy town map with a church, I don't remember it's name. Some guy was about to kill me when I jumped back, fell from a cliff and suddenly respawned in front of him with full HP. I killed both him and his teammate which wasn't really fair, to be honest.
