One easy solution to exponential scales being too steep would be to just widen the damage radius out a ways. Still lets you drop off damage more sharply up close, and I don't see a grenade doing ~5-10 damage at 15' as a balance problem. If anything, it would encourage their use as a finishing hit against a fleeing / hiding enemy, rather than the somewhat more disruptive use as a way to instantly kill someone at full health - though I'm all for that being possible with a near-perfect throw.

That's an option. I'm just worried about damage being dealt miles away from the actual effect.

Well yeah, you obviously don't want it to get excessive. But very minor damage extending a ways beyond the particle effects shouldn't be too bad for either balance or realism. I mean, hell, standard frag grenades these days have an expected injury radius of what? Something like 45'? Obviously you don't want to go nearly that far with even minor damage ingame, but still.

Fire and forget will not return to BW. You seem to be quite competent with FP9s anyway.

With the new lift immunity (I approve) am I still OK to bounce one off the shaft's back wall into the upper or lower area, to hit a known entrenched player. I think Aza has seen me do that.

In other words, there's no intent to grenade the shaft or lift platform, just an attempt to get a grenade into the adjacent floorspace.

I don't mind either way, I'm just after clarity.

There's no actual change to the grenades themselves, it all depends on the surface the pawn is standing on.

If your grenade detonates on the lift, anyone who is standing near the lift will take damage, but those on it will not. Bouncing it to the lower level should still function as it used to.

Sure, I understand the mechanics, but is it "allowed"?

I've only done it with pineapples, but the other example is when Longhorn users stand next to a shaft, bouncing things up/down into the adjacent floorspace.

It's a bit spammy perhaps, given that the LH is quite strong. Both Reload and Neron have been scoring well with it recently. But if it's definitely OK, then that's fine.

You're not killing people on lifts if you do that, so it's fine.
