That's the kind of skill difference here.

the tournament will utilise a division system, which we dearly hope will enable players from multiple skill and experience levels play on an equal field; It's worth noting that this may also improve the quality of match ups. Each of the divisions will have 3 TOP players, which will be awarded prizes: money and possibly hardware. More info will be released later.
Prize-pool it's currently over $2500.

Signups start by the end of June. Cup takes place in July and August.
If you want to know when it exaclty begins feel free to register on the forum http://www.cluex.org , once the tournament and signups will be opened, you will receive a mail informing about it.

i will see in July if i can join the Cup.
even if i am busy with Cups of beer.. and with some D Cups too.. :P

talking serious my point on the post was about divisions system in the cup. that means that you will play in your division with players at your skill level, and still get prizes. So its time to train Pass!

and ofc..

I'd get raped by Fallen_Angel anyway.. :mrgreen:

ShX wrote:We are proud to announce the tournament we were all hoping for. Fifth biggest (prize-poll wise) event of UT2004. DM 1vs1 (duel) with divisions! First stage of a tournament will be provided in a form of group-stage, from each 2 best players are passing onto second stage which is double-elimination bracket playoffs. The first stage takes 2 weeks, second one may take from 1 up to 2 days and is being played by every division in a different dates and times. The exact stuff is being explained below.

[CUP #14] 10 years of UT2004 - DM 1vs1
Sign-ups opened: 05.07.2014 (Saturday) at 20:00 CET over here: http://cluex.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3222

With the sign-ups opened, we will try to lively divide players onto divisions they belong to in a special thread. Worth to mention is that this topic (http://cluex.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3223) is opened for any kind of discussions and suggestions (whether to move players division or to keep him there) and is a draw of divisions placement.

Sign-ups closed: 19.07.2014 (Saturday) at 23:59 CET

The time between closing the registration and publishing the final groups is to be able to provide as fair and balanced schedule of the tournament. It's not long, because the players were already divided into divisions during the sign-up period.

Divisions and groups announced: 20.07.2014 (Sunday) at 20:00 CET

Since that moment you can arrange your matches. Try to play them with the correct schedule and in the right order, so we can avoid the situation a player cannot play a match, because he's occupied in the bigger part of a week. We highly recommend you staying on our IRC QuakeNet channel named #cK.ut for a quick contact. Also, feel free to use private message option to reach your opponent over the forums.

Group-stage begins: 21.07.2014 (Monday) at 00:00 CET

There are few rules you gotta follow, so your matches can be confirmed (there is no way to replay them).

First of all, matches in group-stage are based on best-of-3 system. A player, who is written upper in the schedule picks the map as first, the opponent picks another one (in any match there is no place for 2 same maps to be played) and they both gets played in the same order as picked. In case of a tie (1-1), third map is being picked in the way of elimination, where the player with less frags on both maps is starting the elimination (1st map eliminated by player with less frags, 2nd map eliminated by a player with more frags till 1 remaining).

Once you pick a map during the group-stage you cannot pick it once again versus a different opponent. This rule prevents playing the same maps over and over again. This rule does not apply for division zero if there will be more than 4 players in a group.

Every player needs to record a demo from their POV and after the match, to upload his gameplay in the match-report topic.

The server is being determined on the lowest possible ping difference between both players. If no solution can be found, an admin has to make a final decision.

After the match, one of the players (usually a winner) has to make a thread with screenshots, results and highlighted mappicks. We will try to update the results as soon as they are visible on the forum.

Worth to mention is that we are organising a frag contest, in which a winner is capable of winning $50. Rules are simple - if you feel like you made an awesome frag or created an outstanding action, feel free to share the timestamp from your demo in THIS thread (to be created) (we are also accepting already made short movies). Everyone can enter this contest, but the frag must have happened during the tournament. Do not give up too early, you can still be the winner in this tournament!

Group-stage ends: 10.08.2014 (Sunday) at 00:00 CET

Best 2 players of each group are passing into the next stage (playoffs).

Playoffs begin: 11.08.2014 (Monday) at 18:00 CET

The tournament structure changes into double-elimination bracket. This mean, once you lose against your opponent does not make you leaving the tournament. You can still fight your way to the final in the lower-bracket against the players who also lost. If you happen to lose once again in the Lower-Bracket, you're unfortunately out of the tournament.

First of all, matches in play-offs are based on best-of-5 system. A player, who won the coin-toss, picks the map as first, the opponent picks another one, player who won the coin-toss picks third map, fourth map is being picked by a player who lost coin-toss (in any match there is no place for 2 same maps to be played) and all of those get played in the same order as picked. In case of a tie (2-2), a fifth map is being picked in the way of elimination, where the player with less frags on both maps is starting the elimination (1st map eliminated by player with less frags, 2nd map eliminated by a player with more frags till 1 remaining).

We will try to upate the results as soon as the results are sent.

The playoffs system is way quicklier than the group-stage. It will be played within 1 or 2 days as follows:

11.08.2014 (Monday) 18:00 CET till 21:00 CET=> Division 4 playoffs (1st part)
12.08.2014 (Tuesday) 18:00 CET till the end => Division 4 playoffs (final part)
13.08.2014 (Wednesday) 18:00 CET till 21:00 CET=> Division 3 playoffs (1st part)
14.08.2014 (Thursday) 18:00 CET till the end => Division 4 playoffs (final part)
17.08.2014 (Sunday) 15:00 CET till the end => Division 0 playoffs
18.08.2014 (Monday) TBA till TBA => Division NA playoffs (1st part)
19.08.2014 (Tuesday) TBA till the end => Division NA playoffs (final part)
20.08.2014 (Wednesday) 18:00 CET till 21:00 CET=> Division 2 playoffs (1st part)
21.08.2014 (Thursday) 18:00 CET till the end => Division 2 playoffs (final part)
24.08.2014 (Sunday) 15:00 CET till the end => Division 1 playoffs

In case there would be a problem with any of those dates, please feel free to contact the admin. We want all the matches to be played and we might solve the problem out.
Players are obligated to be present on the IRC QuakeNet channel named #cK.ut to take part in the playoffs stage.

Tournament ends: 24.08.2014 (Sunday)

Frag-contest starts: 25.08.2014 (Monday) at 20:00 CET

During those 3 days you will be able to vote for the winners of submitted best frags/actions of the tournament. The winner will win $50!

Frag-contest ends: 28.08.2014 (Thursday) at 20:00 CET

* stands for a map involved into division zero map-poll (no other maps are being played only in this division)

Total prize-poll: $2500 shared:
Division 0 (in total: $700) => 1st: $350; 2nd: $210; 3rd: $140
Division 1 (in total: $700) => 1st: $350; 2nd: $210; 3rd: $140
Division 2 (in total: $400) => 1st: $200; 2nd: $120; 3rd: $80
Division 3 (in total: $200) => 1st: $100; 2nd: $60; 3rd: $40
Division 4 (in total: $100) => 1st: $50; 2nd: $30; 3rd: $20
Division NA (in total: $100) => 1st: $50; 2nd: $30; 3rd: $20
Winner of frag-contest => $50

In total, the mentioned prize-poll equals $2250. The other part of money is available for the needs such as servers, which we are unfortunately lacking. In case we will manage to provide those without use of a budget, the shares of the prize-poll will be bigger for specifed divisions.
