Dont u think there was enough stuff made for the weaker players ? As robot said already, for example, getting a KS is a challenge now.

There is no other Server i know which makes such difference between better vor weaker players. Its not the Servers or players vor mods fault there are many weaker players, just sad everything must be changed to get the Server alive.

I dunno if the change rate is too high, but without changes its bad also..

Perhaps many ppl just dont know how to Use weapons etc effectiv. or what the weapons have as functions etc.. If they knew, they would use it perhaps.

just had cap^ idea lol... If many ppl cry etc about changes. Is it possible to make all the changes back to a year ago? I dont know if there is a backup and easy to change, im a noobi in that things and glad to know how to shoot ;) ^^

It is a natural result of balancing the game that those who only survive by thriving upon imbalance and poor quality maps get angry - and the worst part about this is that they will be completely reticient with the reasons for their disgust, because they know full well that if they communicate those reasons, they will look like idiots. A perfect example would be Kinjin yesterday. All he could do is blather over and over about how he didn't like the changes or about corruption, but he was strangely unable to name a single change or a reason why that change was actually bad. This is simple - the changes he didn't like removed cheese he himself abused, such as Dark Star, melee lift-camping or Nanoblade one-shotting, and full knowledge of the real reasons for his complaints is why I considered his opinion as worth less than shite.

There will always be players like Kinjin, vocal or not, and I'm left between a rock and a hard place - if I don't remove their cheese (or if I don't remove it fast enough - see giZmo) the better players quit. If I remove their cheese, I risk the worse players quitting and tantrums from the resident queens, with complaints that I don't care for their opinions. They're completely right - I don't give a shit what anyone thinks PER SE - I only care what your reasons are for thinking it and whether I see your logic. If you don't like a change to a map because the flow was fixed and you're now performing worse having lost access to an area of the map which limits skill or unduly increases yours, such as the Urban Hot Zone brick path, tell me honestly - why should I care one bit about that? Why should I revert the game so that it's unbalanced because you're performing as you should be?

So if it is somehow proven that I am in any way responsible for the current situation, what am I to do? The only action that would restore players lost because of the balance being improved would be to fuck up the balance - but that equally will result in both the loss of better players, and tirades and fury from, ironically, some of the very same whiners who cry about changes - dk being a shining example of this double-standard.

At this point it may be better if I ceased to act unilaterally. Regardless of whether a change is requested by someone else, discussed in Skype or is my implementation alone, I receive all the flak for things people don't like. I am rather tempted to start creating discussion threads for all major changes so that at least I cannot be blamed if we agree on them, making me much less of a target and removing the ability for cheese lords to blame and attack one man. Thus, my own jurisdiction would only be over bug fixes and minor changes.

Don't do that. I've seen game systems completely ruined by 'change by public consensus', that way lies madness. I know you get a lot of flack, but I feel your logic is sound, i.e. if you have a problem, rationalise it, and then make a decision based on that, is far superior to having a dozen or more people all cluelessly and with their own agendas try and force really stupid changes.

It's a gaping hole in my side, though. Those players who don't actually have any real debating skills have a very easy troll to fall back on - all they have to do is claim that I make changes for my own benefit and I have absolutely no way of shooting that down. This tactic's most commonly used by Öska, but it's also been employed by dk and Kinjin.

Some people don't realize you publish this mod officially and strive for balance, and so they think it's contained on LDG internally only. Therefore they think you change the balance just to piss them off.

If you dared reading what I say, I only complain that the PeaceMaker has been reintroduced in the loadout. And so does many people. So stop complaining like a little puppy if you can't stand criticism while changing something introducing massive spam. I don't see any reason why you would introduce the PeaceMaker for your own benefit.

The only thing that I noticed is from what you said on TeamSpeak: you introduced the Ray Gun shield so you are not bothered with spammy weapons and grenades; you nagged Gizmo about it and said that now you don't care about the spam anymore since you have this anti-spam shield. And boom, PeaceMaker was in loadout again. It might be a coincidence though.

I do believe that the weapons are quite balanced and I do respect the job done, I just don't understand why the PeaceMaker was introduced. IMO it's just a lot of rockets, producing a lot of spam and a lot of noise.
I'm not saying that the PeaceMaker is OP as it is now, I'm just saying that it's noisy and spammy and that it's quite a pain in the ass.
anyway, did someone put their salami into your mama's underwear or something? - team-spec*Azarael

Most whiners don't read the change log, which would at least give them time to consider & adjust their strategy when facing changed/new weapons. Perhaps Aza should always play with an alias and disable all chat (the rule about hassling admins is routinely ignored) so that comments/discussions are forced through the forum.

The PM was moved only because I felt it was a dead weapon at KS2. It came up in a Skype discussion, so I'm trying to make it work in a normal slot. It's received numerous nerfs since the initial move down.

You did actually say in game that I moved the Peacemaker because the Raygun shield was added. The REAL reason the Raygun shield was created does not even apply to BallisticPro - it's actually designed for vanilla BW, to make the user immune to BX5s and the G5, which are spammed to the exclusion of everything else in the vanilla BW metagame.

I wonder how much people have to download today when they first join the server. Could have it's role here as well.

Tried it on my other installation when I checked the redirect. Took me a minute or so.
