Isn't it what competitive players usually do in stock UT - walk/crouch to hide and be unpredictable? I've never seen anybody complaining about this, in fact it adds some depth to the game. You trade mobility for silence, it's fair.

I always thought it was intended. I agree with you here. I find it makes the game much better. There nothing like someone turning a corner and you shooting them in the back. Plus, it makes AM much harder.

Here's the thing, though, it would kill your sound when sighted, which only reduced your movespeed by 10%.
This way you make reduced sound, but not totally silent.

What Rymosrac said. The main issue is the one he specifies - you moved silently with sights up. That was complete bullshit - completely silent movement at top- or close-to-top speed is the kind of crap that should stay in Call of Duty where it belongs.

Can we at least enable it for AM? I feel that it belongs there, and works well.

Nope. It was never intended for this gametype. If you want to move quietly, you have to crouch - putting your sights up to move at 90% speed while being dead silent was crap and is never returning.
