Regarding IKEA nonsense, I made some modular slot car track meshes for a mario kart level a long time ago. I'm not into assault at all, but I could convert them to static meshes if someone wanted to use them for 2k4. As it is now, anyone can DL the sketchup model and convert them (the modular bits are stored as components in the model.)
I've even provided a translated version of Angel Mapper's tutorial. At this point, there's no excuse.

Race "mappers" had been doing this shit before, splitting the meshes with random bsp brushes or copy pasted materials from other race maps. Examples can be found in one of the trial mash-ups that lelfy made. He isn't doing anything new, he just isn't lucky enought to find some "proper" track meshes like catwalks and those city roads that many other maps cherish.
