First of all, speak proper English. We will take you more seriously and you will get your answer more quickly.
No "u" or "r" or "gonna" or "would of / should of" or "im" or "i", and all other kind of pathetic shit like that.
Second of all, you don't "open" .u files because they are not actual stand alone files. The file extension .u is an Unreal Tournament Class Package, which is basically a mutator in very raw form. In order to get it, you will need to get it the into your system folder, then run " ucc exportcache FILENAME.u ". (bad punctuation with reason) This creates an Unreal Cache File which the game uses to "see" maps, mutators, and skins in your game menus.
That is all there is to it.

You're doing it wrong.
- 1. Press the Windows Button and R together. (Start+R)
2. Type cmd in the box
3. type: cd C:\ut2004\system
4. type: ucc
5. ucc exportcache FILENAME.u

Wow!, thank you calpto, it helped me allot
I would like to learn about the ut2004 system very much. How do you edit the .u file, or even make your own small mutator?
Can anyone point me to a site that i could learn these things from?
