Punishing the player for having the common sense of playing defensive when required is a bit harsh. Should be promoting things like that, not punishing it.

That's not punishing, it's a choice.
You have the choice to get nades and spam it everywhere you want. Or getting that shield, and playing a little bit with more tactics. Like moving from a spammed corridor to another with that shield, or thawing safely...
By doing this, I just presume that it will reduce that fucking nade spam.

So your reasoning is because you personally dislike grenades, they should be limited heavily. Right.......

Grenades were only buffed fairly recently because they were underused. I can't see that change making such a swing in the other direction.

I'm not disliking grenades. I like it, i'm playing with it. Most of time, medic nades sure, but see the truth :
Most people starts a round, nades in hands, and spam it when they see an enemy team. And all the team's doing that which is completely out of the grenade's objective.
Grenades have always been used correctly by some players, when enemy team is thawing... when crossing a corridor...To kill a camper...

But see the truth dude : Most of the players are using it when they spawn, or are beeing thawed just to spam it around.
That change will force players to make a choice. It's gonna make em think : Because when they will be thawing, if they don't have that shield, clever players will throw their grenades right here.
