there is a ring of mountains around castle on the edge of map. make it possible to walk on all locations of them. so, i can run in a circle around the castle
on the back side of castle. there should be a good way from castle itself to the land behind the castle. so there is no need to swim. bridge? underground tunnel?
there are rooms over the gate to the castle. basically, they are the dead-end, which is leading only to a lower roof. make a pass from them to the lower rooms (those, with little balcony on the back of the castle).
another idea. connect top roof with tunnels underground.

These suggestions just make the map longer. More access to the outside area?
Also connecting the roof to the lower tunnels, could you explain;
a) why you feel the map needs this, and
b) how this would be implemented [without damaging the medieval feel of the map]

another couple of suggestions
1. there is a aforementioned little balcony on the back of the castle. it offers a good observation of the back sector of the castle. another balcony next to it is needed for observation of the side castle which contains the gate
2. bring more life to opposite side of the castle (opposite to that with the gate). we have enough action on all sides (front, back, gate-side), except that one.
3. ah. another idea. make a hole in the floor of the room above the gate, so it possible to shoot those invaders from the top. and to send them couple of grenades.
about connecting the roof.
i dont want to pretend that there are much thoughts behind it. i view it as cool to be able to get to the top point of the castle from the lowest point. Although, it would bring more importance to the tunnels.
how to do it? well, anyway, its not a good idea to lavishly decorate all changes before they are proven to be worthy in terms of gameplay. couple of ladders with little platform in the middle would be fine. on the roof, entrance to them could be made, say, in corridor to elevator.

Let's make it a CTF map. The road that goes off the bridge can be the center of the map, mirroring to another Highlander castle surprise

It's not because a couple of guys hate it that we have to destroy a map. Calypto made a 2k13 version fixing a lot of small issues (if you forget the removal of the tree), why don't you stick to that.

i have more ideas.
1. instead of ladder, its possible to make a one-way teleport which brings player from tunnel to the top of the chimney on the roof. destionation is purposefully opened for any observation. so, it would be nice to camp it with sniper.
2. make some places to hide for sniper in mountains behind the castle and for attacking players on shore, near the castle gates. maybe some little house or cabin. or wall, made of logs.

I added it. I can remove it.
