Re: Decreasing playerbase
That has nothing to do with a player joining for the first time, does it? Speaking of bringing brand new members to our servers.

Re: Decreasing playerbase
Most new people have ballistic v2.5 and may have a mismatch when joining. some of them would just leave if they have a mismatch. I thin Ballistic Pro needs to be released officially on another website so that people download it. also Ballistic third in the offline is mismatched from the server

Re: Decreasing playerbase
Why would Pro and 2.5 have the same filepaths?

Re: Decreasing playerbase
The answer: They don't. A myth is going around that you can't have more than one working installation of BW. As I've had Fix and Pro installed for centuries, I don't care for this myth.
Players will wait for a populated server.pupimassa wrote:That has nothing to do with a player joining for the first time, does it? Speaking of bringing brand new members to our servers.

What if you posted a large collection of pirate GUID's on the forum for people to use freely
Might help the player count

Re: Decreasing playerbase
Im sometimes having "mismatch" issues to, when I was trying to join yesterday, I needed to delete some system BW files before it worked. I think for some people even locating the file which causes error and removing it can be a problem...that's just a speculation but I personally know some guys which would like to play but can't solve a simple stuff like that

Re: Decreasing playerbase
Cache extractors WARN you EXPLICITLY not to extract system files. Ignore that warning at your own peril.

Yeah and this is what Im talking about - dont know, wtf is cache extractor, dont know what that warning means and never seen it - I just select "join or spec" in the server browser and wait for download. Same as every regular player does, dont expect from them some knowledge of deeper understanding how the system/cache/whatever rly works

Yeah, objection. System files are only created if you try to export from the cache.Im sometimes having "mismatch" issues to, when I was trying to join yesterday, I needed to delete some system BW files before it worked.
