Re: Ballistic Bro Changelogs Discussion
Would it be reasonable to add the medicinal aerosol grenades to the Gear slot?
They don't seem imbalanced vs the Stimpacks in most gametypes, but I suspect they might be a serious problem in Freon.

The main problem with them is that they're such a good option that they overcentralize the game. They also overheal at the moment.

Just a thought, my experience hasn't put them as much better than the stimpacks while requiring significantly more time investment to use. The server runs 175 base health and overheal capped at 218, right?

you might only be playing DM or ctf where you have infinite respawns. Freon or TAM means that you have 1 life and a long respawn waiting time. the G28 aerosols are really effective to quick thaw and to bring health from below 50 to 218 to have a longer life. When they were first added in the grenades slot, EVERYONE used them for health, so they are now a KS1

Yeah, the Freon thawing thing is obviously a big deal.
Though I will say that they don't immensely strong in Jailbreak, and that's the closest thing to a no-respawn gametype that we play, so I'll likely put them in the gear slot for our games unless it becomes a problem.
. . . Like the stimpacks did when I had health at 100 base and damage at 58%. Four rounds of Dragons Tooth domination was more than enough to convince me that was a mistake.

In Jailbreak, it doesn't matter at all. Jailbreak on the server is pickups. And if you play Jailbreak offline with Loadout, you can choose the slot for the G28'sRymosrac wrote:Yeah, the Freon thawing thing is obviously a big deal.

Balance as I'll talk about it is based primarily around Freon. In the case of all other gametypes, LDG's loadout and my recommendations may not be in line. Freon makes G28s extremely powerful, but in DM they are next to useless.

I know, and I'm not trying to confuse issues by debating balance in scenarios wildly different from those intended.
I'm just fiddling with things on my end as best as can be done with my limited technical skills. Thankfully, both base BW and the stuff you've done make that job remarkably easy.
It's done a lot to get UT more play time at our regular events, and I really appreciate it. The one from a couple weeks ago was some of the tightest, most competitive play we've had in years.
Should have had demorec running.

If you record some game play of our stuff lemme know. That'd be some awesome promotional stuff. Plus its fun to watch.
Also, do you need a mutator or something to set health to 175? I think I got one somewhere, all the weapons in pro are based around that as base health, it ends up being not too far from what original BW damage models were.
