I have successfully lead this thread into a pointless direction.. My mission is complete.(I see your point and understand just fyi)

But to get back on topic. I voted to have skill system not shown. Which I'm pretty sure will end up winning this vote hands down.
When it comes to race/assault its more about team play vs kill count. Granted I think there was some kinda x points given for winning a round/game. This is just one of those gametypes that a skill system ladder just isn't really needed.

Its a good idea yes and it works with many game types. Most that play this gametype could careless. I'm all for competitive match of a decent as map. But i don't see a need to have a ladder to see who can successfully game the rank system the best. I rather people play as a team member in the mission to complete the objective as fast as possible/hold off the enemy from completing an objective for as long as possible. Most of the time for those in the top 10 in the ladder.. thats the least of there worries.

The reason why I voted for hiding it in AS game is that people have a tendency to sit and camp with long range shots (yet to be patched to make sure that if you sit down, long range kills won't count) and thus prefer personal interest over the team interest and good game. I can see this happening in AS (where skill is mainly determined on how you defend; attacking only check if you try to shieldrun too much or not).

I voted that the ranks should be public, but only if the rules of the ranks are easy/simple* and agreed upon by most. I'd like to see a skill based teambalancer aswell, but I know this is a lot of work!
I think KvW had a system in the old days, but I'm not sure.

*: The same rules on all maps and applied to every map (AS). No "if you shoot with alt fire of gun X it doesnt count", "killing Y with a Z doesnt count" thingies :) And I'd like to see a counter that displays your DEF/ATT ratio and by this ratio you could not be included in the rankings (you know who you are). And objectives should outweigh kills.

I guess he went to the Conqueror School of Assault. Sorry, but objective claims have little to no correlation to skill. Games are stacked because of players with high combat skill and the players doing all the killing are the reason you even get to your objective.
