Actually I can't seem to download anything now from LDG on RACE or FREON either

The problem is that it is 500 stat points for freewin. It should not exist in its previous form.

I'm only seeing 2 players on RACE, nothing on BW or Invasion - normal or a problem with the servers?

Looks like an issue with the servers. The BW servers had a download update while AS/Race did not.

iRobot's suggestion is tempting but maybe it would be too tricky to implement something like that? Or you could simply add some more enchantings to it and automatically lover the chances of wining vorpal/dmg/rage.

The "Vampirism" ability doesn't work with all weapons (with some assault weapons/shotgun weapons for example). Is that normal ?

Yes, they do too little damage and might not return any health at all due to the small effective percentage of the ability.
