Ah, I changed the barriers too as the stripes converged strangely under the track :? . I don't mind changing them back in any future versions once it's been tidied up!

I like the powercore idea. Would it be feasible?

Don't think there are any actors in the ldgobjects that would allow you to do that. However you can probably use built in actors from bulldog lls map and do this idea.

Tested two versions out and found one compatible with Race. Well, vehicles can carry it anyway, and both teams can score in the one round. If we did build a map around this concept, it would have to be for a very casual game. That's if it would work online, of course.

I'm hoping this concept works out well. Its cool and I would love to make a race map on a similar concept.

We'd need separate goals for each team, and at the moment it doesn't highlight your destination after taking the core. It would also probably carry on until the time limit too. But it works.

Ooops, I should probably make a new thread for this rather than confuse this one ...

If this idea is feasible, we would have to take precautions against turning this into another C & C scenario; I wouldn't want 6 or 7 people defending whilst 3 or 4 go chasing. We'd have to be choosy over where the endpoint would be - certainly not right next to the spawn area.

My idea was based on the endpoint being your base.

Think of a Y shape, top of the Y is where both teams spawn, the base of the Y is where the 'appelkore' resides. Both teams battle along the same road to reach the kore, then have to battle their way back through oncoming traffic, who are determined to either a) escort them, or b) annihilate them, depending on team.

The road can be your typical raisroad, jumps, turns, banks, hops, etc. Just need to ensure it's drivable both ways.

Goal score of 3 or something. Also since both teams are vying for control of the same object, there is no tedium of "powar kore reeset" and no incentive to sit there defending it. If your team doesnt have the kore, you are the 'defenders', until you take it from the attackers. Then the roles are reversed, on the fly.

So while it does loosely borrow concept from VCTF, it promotes more action since both teams are going in the same direction from the same origin. I think this would be popular amongst all players, even those who prefer "le epic DM room" as it's a very combat orientated idea.

If you wanted to be adventurous, you could add 'le awsum trap room' somewhere and place traps on the road. With both teams going back and forth on the same road, traps would be pretty interesting.

Of course, this whole thing is born of my own crazy imagination and I have no ability to implement any of these ideas.
