Maps can be edited, as long as the mapper explicitly says not to do so. The new map is your (art)work, built up on another map. You don't write the original mappers name on your map, do you?

In written language it is similar: You quote the author (correctly!) and can comment on that (which then is your work). The slight difference between mapping and language is that you may not change the authors text. If you seemingly "quote" something which the author of your quote didn't even say or write, you are accusing him to have done so. Legally, you have to prove that he did. Trolling is done via a comment on a statement, not by changing the statement itself. And if you make a statement similar to the original one - but including a pun - you may not sell it as an original post by the author (meaning quotation).

Trolling is acting in a way to start offtopic arguments or to upset people in any way. So if you quote your post and change the message, you get a bit troll'd. If I rather edit your message and then quote it directly, that's better way to troll.
