I might need a higher resolution wrench here.

Aza has not made a single change in more than a month, so there are no changes. There are some Balance issues but nothing out of the normal stuff.

It is your fault that you are incapable of trying other weapons rather than the DS and melee. I for example use Randoms when there are few players, and every day use a different loadout.
What you say here :
Kinjin wrote:People in general, don't like change because they are no longer in their comfort zone, whether it was camping a tunnel, hiding behind door or whatever it may be, changes need to be done in very small doses, not a complete map overhaul...
is actually the way you play!!!.... you hide with the DS, spam the corridors and hide behind doors... there are some with katana doing so too... but, I play almost daily and I do not see many (besides you) doing so...

Your opinion is as valid as mine... but is just an opinion. I suggest you try different weapons and strategies different than the DS melee, and then give an opinion about balance after. Have you ever tried the shotguns? The viper?... The Cylos?

Ahh, btw people like me play UT because of the speed of the game and movement... you'll never be able to do that in a console...

There is an excess of crying and a lack of competition.

In a nutshell, all I'd say here is that both of you are from different groups of players when it come to changes. Some will love them along with the updates, some will hate them. Are you going to convince each other that "you" are the right? I doubt it.

I am in the camp of less changes myself. It is not a competitive game and the people who do play it are only sticking around because they enjoy it. I have nothing against balance changes for when something is used by a large population, but there have been some snap changes which have done little outside of causing disdain.

Map changes are fine. They are the battlefields we play on, and always having something new in that regard, even if only a minor tweak to an existing map, adds new dimensions to the game.

Also for the love of god, if you're going to post a big picture, just use the external link, needing to scroll 3 miles right to read someones post is beyond tedious.

Well, with the average peaktime playercount looking extremely sorry for itself (10-12 players for a couple of matches is the May norm), I think we've got to the stage where we need to discuss actual solutions, rather than earmarking the blame on this or that. The issue of maps is a debate we can all easily contribute to:

With regards to the lastest lull in numbers (March to present), the feedback I've been getting is that players are bored. So my proposal is thus - freshening up the map list by adding a couple of old maps back per week, then removing them and adding a couple more the following week, and so on. I know the argument regarding map fixes, and I would agree fully were the server populated (the latest UrbanHotZone is my favourite map, but is sadly never played), but judging by the ingame conversations we are fairly close to losing the core of our community.

Additionally I still think we have a plethora of good, yet rarely played maps on the server, which are hidden under deadwood. Perhaps removing some of these would freshen up things and drive away the boredom.

well..I find interesting the possibility of gradually reintroducing old maps.
I think it is right and important to nerf weapons that are annoyingly op in the hands of most players, but it is really stupid to instead change weapons that were used by only one player, and just because some admins are raging (example srs silencer ---> topic " clowns ").

Also, this community (admins and good skill players) is totally lacking in "common sense", and the server admins are useless: no one ever balances the teams when they are clearly unbalanced (because there is already the automatic balancer, which can never be wrong! Pity that does not work for new entrants). Shit, you're playing, you're on the stronger team, change team at least! There is as a rule? let it!
Instead you are more interested in complaining if someone (me) tells you to fuck off or writes that the teams were not balanced (when they really were not).
It makes the game annoying.

Change the rules of permanent banning (Emax ... bombom). It's too much to ban them for life because they camp! even if he is a recidivist, take a week at most each time.
permanent ban only to those who use cheats or something very serious.
Add some new things if possible: if I have 100 adrenaline, I can use it when I'm frozen, to thaw me 30% ... 40%, even over time. (Not sure if you can make it happen).

They are just little things that maybe do not change the situation, because the base is a game that is now old and with few players.

Old maps sucked so far - half of the original uhz is always unused, downtown has lots of dead ends and overall is just more simplistic and boring than the updated version. Not sure about osiris and goli, at least they were made by epics and despite one flaw (roof) they are still playable.
