Why oh why do we have those superweapons and airstrikes and whatever there also exists.
I really don't get the point of giving a superweapon to a good player.
Because good players can have some more fun and kill some more ?
So bad players get more frustrated ?

The best players with the best weapons against bad players with normal weapons.
Very logical.....

In my opinion the superweapons should go to the badest players so we even out the game.
It makes the game more fun for them, and more competetive for the better players.
Perhaps the better players should be the one who earn those weapons, but they should automatically be given to the badest player of his team.

Think about it.

The idea of rewarding 'bad play' with the best weapons in the game is ludicrous. That's all that needs to be said.

But i think it's a stupid system.

I agree completely that it makes stronger players even stronger. There's no denying that.

Unfortunately it's the only way to have these weapons in the game. They're too powerful to have a regular weapons, even if nerfed greatly.

Maybe the system needs an overhaul to help balance poorly weighted games, and moving away from focusing on 'kills'.

A proposal;

+ If a team is 3 rounds behind, they all spawn with the KS1 weapon they have selected, in addition to their own loadout.
+ If a team is 4 rounds behind (Only possible at 5-1 and 4-0), they all spawn with their KS2 weapon of choice.
+ If a team is 5 rounds behind (Only possible at 5-0) then they all spawn with KS3 weapons. Maybe the HPV could use some work to make that less ridiculous but this is merely an idea of what could be done, so the weapons are actually given to the players who need the help.

In all examples, the KS weapon is removed at end of round. Maybe the 'KS1' level could stay on the players.

Using this system, the stronger players (who don't need the weapons in all honestly) would only ever recieve them if they were placed on a very weak team which was losing anyway.

Edit; self trumpet blowing aside, the more I think about this, the more I feel it's a vastly superior incarnation of these weapons, as balance is the goal of the game.

Personally, i think the killstreak system needs to remain. It order for a game to remain playable it must evolve and the killstreak system provides an incentive to stay alive rather than go kamikaze. I can say that it's made me more conservative rather than going in all-guns-blazing (still do but not as much ).

How about making the superweapons available for a certain number of rounds? So, KS1 for 3 rounds, KS2 for 2 rounds and KS1 for 1 round? This would cause players to use the weapons tactically rather than as soon as they're made available..which i've seen a few times. Just a suggestion?

Edit: I don't know if they already work that way, i've been away quite a while and yeah what robot said..

Staying alive is a silly thing. This is UT, we're supposed to rush and rape, so long as it results in more kills than deaths.

When the skill balancer is implemented I will likely add empowerment of the entire losing team in case of stacks. However, bear in mind this is what Challenge Mode is for.

The challenge mode penalty is too weak and has little effect, due to healing. You know this.
