BallxRedux? Maybe.

LegoWars? Never. It's the other way around - RACE is voted to stop LegoWars.

What about voting for the second map in line instead of the next one.

so voting would look like this:

next map is map A
vote for map B

map A
next map is map B
Vote for map C

map B
next map is map C
Vote for map D

map C
next map is map D
Vote for map E

ect.ect.

;'D'D , .= or LOL

I'm also against this 0.1 vote system; your example may be true (people will rq if As is stacked blablabla...) but what we have now is basically 1 AS map followed by 4 RACE. 0.1 vote is useless because you can't counterbalance RACE (10 vs 1!), and lately when you have 5 people voting AS and 1 voting RACE, it causes RQ too. Priviledging the vote of 1 person to balance the gametypes when nobody else want to play it is infuriating. So putting it to 0.3/0.4 should be sufficient.

Also OLDZ doesn't bring as many people as you think since it has become permanent (and it wasn't my intention when I imagined this), and given the lower amount of maps (dunno why you cut out the maplist) the same crap comes back over and again: Chaos, Catrace, HB Darknight more than twice a day, no thx.
Its all about the game, and how you play it
All about control, and if you can take it
All about your debt, and if you can payit
Its all about pain and whos gonna make it...

Will adjust the penalty to 0.35 and make LegoWars count as rais. 10/1 is excessive.

As written, the 0.1 vote is basically disabling Assault. And I'm keeping it that way, until AS players display more intelligence and figure out that when there is low players, they should vote RACE - everything that will be done by me will be a lot stricter. Countermeasure for RACE domination will be giving 1.40 votes for certain maps, when it occurs.

Let me get this straight: As we know from the AS server trial, most AS players, unlike RACE players, cannot be assed to join the server when it's empty, due to their arrogance and maintain stable population, not even for peak hours - when the popultaion gets low or when smth they don't like is voted (because 4 ppl out of 14 voted etc.) they'll just quit without having care to vote a different map or that empty server won't attract many new players. Then, all this artifical arrogance to RACE players: complete ignorance of their reason to play race: relax and have fun (and this means for everyone, not just one camper), and no gratefullness shown that they play AS with them, despite if they had a choice, they would pick RACE. All they get is constant attacks that AS > RACE, even though AS parazites on RACE. So by taking no action against that, what would happen? RACE players refuse to play AS later, we get this point when 6 AS players "block" the server until they all quit "due to low playercount" completely at some point, resulting in empty server - so basically, not only AS players would not be able to populate dedicated AS server, they would kill even the RACE server too. And that is something that is NOT happening under my watch!

Of course, there are situations where when the server has AS players and RACE gets voted, resulting in lesser playercount during the RACE, but if you put the quits on AS and quits on RACE next to each other, quits on AS will prevail. As of Legowars, I'd rather disable it than have it as count as RACE, because I don't agree that most AS players won't vote it only to stop RACE.

Last time it took us cca. a month to get the RACE population back (in May, when AS dominated before the split). And I don't expect this to be different now.

Slander.

You know as well as I do how the effect works. It happened on the Ballistic server. If AS players don't have any faith that players will join on AS maps (not enough background Assault population), they won't attempt to join an empty server. It's not arrogance, it's a response to probability. Arrogance is what is demonstrated by the so-called "pros" who consider themselves too good to play public servers.

As for the anti-rais sentiment, it's been demonstrated by OLDZ that raisers on the whole like a map the worse it is. While, as aforesaid, I accept that racers are necessary, I'm not about to show appreciation to those who venerate shit over gold, even within their own gametype (RACE vs OLDZ). Were their own gametype(s) with some actual merit, the rift wouldn't even exist.

They play not as a favour to us, but because if they leave, they have no chance to vote.

In the end, you're going to have to balance this. A 0.1 vote is a hard disable, and I would think very carefully about what that means. We had a 11 vote AS disabled by 2 racers yesterday which is what prompted me to change the voting so that it's not going to prompt a server currently full of AS players to ragequit.

Guys, I think I might have solved this.

Combine the two gametypes, into Raissault, and design it around objectives and vehicles, with weapons and some foot combat.
