The only scenario in which the CYLO UAW will ever have a variable fire rate is when you are playing Instant Action with the Classic/Stock/Vanilla version. Neither pro nor any online version has an inconsistent fire rate. The same holds for the A49 Skrith Blaster, which has an exponential RoF ramp up after reaching 50% heat in IA. (As to "Why", this allows the CYLO to fluctuate from 408-148 DPS, which means you play a game of chance of having an amazing DPS or pitiful one. It's unique.)

The CYLO Firestorm, in every version, will slow down as it heats up.


Any perceived variance would likely be the placebo effect. (Unless, for whatever reason, Azarael decided to keep the NM_Standalone check on the UAW.)

I am only playing instant action. For what it's worth, I have both cores in the system folder (Pro's dependency).

I just double checked and compared Pro to BW,

First of all, my evaluation method is by listening to the guns firing. I am a drummer, so my ear is very sensitive to time changes.

With Pro I listened to all rifles shooting a full clip in automatic. I have found that the minor fluctuation I noticed in the CYLO UAW occurs in all rifles, and is obviously more prevalent the slower the gun's firing rate is. Whether it is supposed to be like that, or is due to a technical limitation in the game's sound engine, or in my computer's hardware - only you guys can say. Having fired my share of bullets I can only mention that whatever causes it, this minor variation adds to the realism of the automatic rifles.

I have then tested the UAW in BW v2.5 (w/ BP10 WD-1) and it was very easy to notice that the fluctuations in the rifle's firing rate are much, much greater. Granted, what I have found confirms what Sgt. Kelly is saying.

With that out of the way, can we please get back to the FG and the FSSG?

Open BWBPRecolors4MainPro.ucl and look for FG50Machinegun / AS50Rifle. Also give me the size of BallisticRecolors4AnimPro.ukx in the Animations dir.

Both rifles are in the library, and the ukx file size is 40.1 MB (42,145,698 bytes) :)

Then that version contains the FG50 and FSSG-50. You should be able to add them to your loadout lists from the mutator's configuration options.

I just checked again, the weapons are missing from all weapon lists

Are all Bonus Pack weapons missing or just the FG50 and FSSG-50? It is impossible for the FSSG-50 and FG50 alone to be missing from the Loadout weapon list.

Well, I do have the MR-DR, the CYLOs, and the Bulldog cannon. Let me try your files. I'll report back in a minute.

Edit: All files were identical in size except for BWBPRecolors4MainPro.ucl which was bigger than what I had. Testing the game now.

Okay I have both weapons now.

Just played with them a couple of short games and I hate to say that, but I am disappointed with both. Perhaps it's my lack of experience in shooter games but I am finding them to be very difficult to handle, and I couldn't really understand the difference between their primary and secondary shots, except for rate of fire which is obvious. Can't really see what is it that they bring to the table - but as I said, I am far from being a hardcore gamer.

Your view on the FG50 is generally shared by the playerbase. The sighted fire animation makes it extremely difficult to use. The secondary fire of the FG50 allows a faster fire rate but overheats the weapon (unrealistically quickly, but that's balance for you).

The FSSG-50's altfire ignites the target and applies view flash. This doesn't have any disorienting effect on bots.
