This somewhat exists anyway. If you have a group of say, 5 frozen enemies, and one thaws unnoticed, he can just instantly fire 1 bullet and thaw the rest. Be nice if you couldn't thaw for say, 10s~ regardless of what you do.

Sometimes you can't, sometimes you can. I think it might be bugged.

Not to mention the effect is exaggerated even more as you use your frozen teammates as pseudo sandbags so are difficult to kill.

Why dont u make it so that the more people u thaw, the longer it shall take. Think of the senario where u are building a house or an entire block. Its ovious that a block of houses would take longer.

Thawing is the essence of Freon! I personally disagree in nerfing the thaw process... as if thawing was worth same as dying or killing! I'm afraid when the match has taken a side, and few players of a team alone there is no reverse by thawing ... The winning team just have camp the bodies... Just camp the good players when frozen, nobody will risk to thaw a noob unless is by chance in a safe way possible...
Some ironic situations to illustrate:
-Big amount of players in a pit, would you risk to go in there to heal someone?...hell no... just let them wait, is their own fault they got killed so easy...
-Guy frozen in open space, would you risk to go thaw him?... hell no, I'm not going to get shot to save a noob...
-Owww, >7 skill player frozen, he'll make good support... Risk? I'll try to pass next to him... mnnn, I've better check no campers around or he is being used as bate... maybe pass..Move along.

Sounds like Last man standing Freon :)

Yeah, because this nerf affected thawing in general rather than just specific situations. Totally!

If you want your teammates thaw faster, use HMC heal beam or G28 Aerosols, they also exist for a reason among all the high-power weapons. Dunno if they have the same nerf of reduced thawing rate when grouped, but I guess they don't.

When there a lot of frozen people, then it's colder, so takes longer to thaw.

I am also skeptical about the changes in thaw mechanics. It could really affect Freon gameplay as we are accustomed to it today. I say - let's run it as a pilot for 2-3 weeks and see if people actually adjust their gamestyle. We could even survey regular players, if they actually feel any change in gameplay after the pilot period is over.

Then we can debate on whether keeping it is worthwhile or not. What do you say Azarael?

The change in thaw mechanics affects an absolute minority of situations, which is why I've dismissed the complaints about it. How proximate you are to other players should not in any way positively affect the time taken to thaw, and the only reason it does is because of the particular abstraction (body heat) in use. If we consider some other mechanic (a targeted laser or blowtorch) used for thawing, the issue does not arise and nobody would care.
