About time someone actually used melee, and I don't mean punching with defib alt.

By limiting HP of thawed players to the HP of the thawing player, or the mean HP of the team if it is higher, the standard Freon game ensured a timely end by causing damage taken generally by a team to matter - once all players on a team fall below a certain HP value, no player on the team could ever exceed that HP value in future, pushing a team which has dealt a lot of damage towards a win. Without this mechanism in place, we had to change the game to add in further restrictions in overtime, and we still had the problem of fast turnarounds when a low HP player thaws multiple people at once, and taking damage not mattering much in Freon. Admittedly the presence of healing reduces the effectiveness of this measure.
You seemed pretty convinced...

Unconvinced of any merit to the default thawing behaviour, I have reinstated the old thawing behaviour.
Thank you, back to reasonable play... joinha

I use defibs to heal, not to disorient punch as most do... You could reactivate health and nerf the defib alt...

Additionally you could make the same as with the lightning gun in water...

..and there is nothing wrong with that.

The issue presented is that defibs were too powerful compared to main weapon slot healing items such as HMC or CX61, and completely outshone any and all other melee slot items. As there were no other attractive options in the melee slot, this lead to majority population using defibs, and given their aoe healing nature - the more people using them the more powerful they get. The 100 health cap will help mitigate the overwhelming healing while still allowing people to use defibs as an option when they are low hp.

What about 120 health cap? Because I don't heal with the the defibs any more and I don't see anyone else healing. It's not like I'm complaining, I can live without it and still keep them for thawing, but the fact is - I used them successfully once or twice yesterday. When you're at low hp switching to another weapon just to gain 30-50 additional points is not worth it. If you're in the middle of a fight you will die anyway, if you're not - you will heal faster just by staying near a teammate (and if you can't find anyone above 100 hp then you will all die soon as well).

More testing is needed given the reverting of the change to thawing mechanics.

So people will now once again thaw at 175 HP?

I really, really disagree with the concept of someone hopping around with a riot shield thawing three people, turning the tide so easily.

If you ignore the enemy completely in favour of thawing, something is clearly incorrect.

The disadvantages outweigh the positives. Getting thawed at 10 hp or any value less than 175 affects the balance and also your own judgment of combat afterwards, if you work from the assumption of 175 hp. It would be better simply to prevent riot shield users from thawing. Body heat is blocked or some shit.

No, I wouldn't like that. People using the riot to thaw is fine.

It's just with people thawing with so much HP, it's impossible to stop the inevitable chain reaction of;

Guy thawing 3 while hopping with shield.
Compounded by frozen players acting as a second layer of shield for the alive player.
Enemies thaw, 3 new guys shooting you.
One of those dies, thawed by the other 2 [while they shoot you]

Basically you have to retreat when someone is thawing, which is fundamentally flawed for the game. You cannot kill someone in time when the thaw rate is what it is.
