It's a pity that the bot skill can't be spread across a range, then it would be more like a normal human game. Then the bot count could be increased slightly too.
That said, there are plenty of other servers with easy bots that are currently sitting empty - it doesn't guarantee more players.

maybe if the bots had pings and randomly said comments and replied to people it would feel more lively

I really hated those bots, they are just evil tricks to make a server very popular, like the Crazy-froggers server and the ABA server.

They could already be present, although maybe some of the comments are a bit too predictable...
...like this one.
Seriously though, perhaps put the bot skill on Auto.

what do you mean by auto?
do you mean the bots skill adjusts to the players standard.
Like good players play vs hard bots while not so good players play vs bad bots?
Keeping some players on their toes

Would be smart if it was possible to adjust the skill of the bots with the average skill of the players.

We had a special version of those, having multiple personalities. They are the origin of team-spec*Sentitel.

Yes - if you create an offline gametype of "Deathmatch" it has a "Game Rules" option for "Auto adjust bot skill". However, I had assumed that was available under all gametypes, but it isn't.
Perhaps if the BW server could be made to do that, it might help at quiet times.

Must say I haven“t played BW for quite a long time to.(
I think the server is a bit unfriendly to all newcomers and the main barrier for new ppl to join is downloading whole bunch of stuff for the first time. I can imagine about 75% of players which want to join just quit after few minutes of "neverending" downloading which btw stops when the map is changing, server disappears and u can join some time later - would anyone who doesnt have a shine search for it and try it again? I guess not.
I would add some basic info into the server description to warn all the newcomers to be patient - cca xxx mb is needed to download + it can stop while the map is being changed.) This should be clear and visible.
I played some rounds today and its still such a great game, give them noobs some chance to play it. Maybe some settings advice would help to (I know there is st like that, but still so complicated for a brand new player, imo)
