LDG-Gaming

Due to the action of Oska and Sage, I had following idea to prevent such situations and to improve the servers a bit:

LDG could host an "event-server", which people can rent for their events.
Meaning: If I want to make a 1on1 against somebody, want a clan-match, etc., I make an application and the server will be protected with a password. The participants receive the password as well as 'trusted' spectators. (or we simply need an admin on the server while the event is running)
Official events of LDG (such as Ballistic Tournament) etc obviously will be free to play, but private events should be charged to support the community (my humble opinion). "1€ per hour" or depending on the type of event.

Constructive criticism is welcome. I hope we can arrange a working concept

The most time that Server is empty, so that' why i suggest it.

The test server is configured specifically for stock Ballistic beta tests.

So either the Ballistics #2 can be used (which I don't prefer) or we/you/they create a new one for this purpose (in which case the voting settings etc of the server may contain everything from bw, over race, to basic deathmatch and vctf or even onslaught)

Hmm, isn't Duel gametype part of Chaos UT2k4? It could be sourced for 1on1 BW gametype if there is such desire. 1on1 server would eat minimum amount of resources.

Also, before the event server idea, I can't see how that is practically realisable honestly -> I don't recall things like ingame administration to exist actually, and well, WA is too limited for complete setup and requires to know some basics, which ppl won't know, such as how to setup BW properly etc. .

I think that in past, the private server was moreless empty all the time.
