Discussion - Recoil resetting

When you stop firing a weapon after having built up recoil, the weapon moves back down, retracing its previous exact recoil path. As far as I know this is completely unique to Ballistic Weapons. In a number of instances this looks pretty stupid and it can throw your aim off because of the varying recoil decline settings of each weapon. I looked into this and I can disable it. The advantage of doing so is that your view isn't forcibly and somewhat unpredictably shifted while you're attempting to aim the next shot, but without this feature you no longer have a visible way to check your own accumulated recoil. The question is what to do from here:

1) Leave it as it is - weapons will continue to move down when their recoil is resetting.
2) Implement a checkbox allowing the user to select the setting. However, because I won't know which setting the player is using, recoil decline times must be left as they are.
3) Adjust the mod globally to remove the recoil reset movement, and change the recoil lowering times and delays globally to be lower to deal with the lack of visibility of your own built up recoil.
4) Scale the degree of downward shift.

To be sure i understand you right:
Use of change will be, that weapons stay up and dont move down?

I like it the way it is, moving down. I mean, if it wouldnt go back down automaticly i would have to bring it down for my own.
Is the sence, that firering would be more comlicated?

Option 1 is the most comfortable setting. I guess most people would choose that.

In option 2 the majority of the players will simply go with default settings and don't touch anything.

I'd vote for option 3. It will have possibly the biggest impact on the game and will cause tsunamis, you know exactly what I mean. You can hate and talk me down.

I dunno about option 4.

I personally favour Option 3 because it's how all other FPSes work. Note that you already do have to move the weapon down when you're firing an automatic in full auto to compensate for recoil, so this actually creates less work for you.

I never move against recoil:
1. Using Semi Rifle: i just wait to go back down
2. Using Assault Rifle: prevent recoil by reduce firerrate
It would be really disturbing to re-aim with deermaster after shooting
 Option 2

How about you give each setting a try for 3-4 days and then take the option with the least tears ?

For me personally i have no problem with the current settings but i also dont mind changes if they
dont make it any worse.

I vote for no recoil (not even trolling), I see no enjoyment from having the screen shaking ridiculously.

Just make the bullets less accurate after x period, rather than the weapon flying around like someone having an epileptic fit.

Recoil is controllable, random fire isn't. If you play from hipfire, you pretty much get what you're proposing - that's how hipfire is designed.
