Re: Idea Weapons/mines
Hmm, how about something C&C Tiberium Wars style? To make the weapon more unique and given it's sniper, changing the barrel to shoot laser and make it shoot laser for a short period of time?

A laser alternative mode could be possible. Assuming it's killstreak, bullet fire would have higher DPS but more recoil.

Is that a sniper rifle with flak balls as alternate? Looks awesome.
Dual wield with a pistol in one hand and a melee in the other? Maybe as killstreak?

How about new weapons for killstreaks?
Maybe a crossbow or bow and arrow or bear trap?

If everyone worked on it solid, then a few days, to do all the animations, textures and model building etc.
Of course they don't work on them solid, so it takes weeks for a new weapon to be ready...and then they get told they can't release it.

Robot is correct, however modelling speed depends on whether an existing design is used. If I have to design something myself, work rate wil vary depending on whether I've any ideas. If any of you are concept artists, now is the time to declare it.

Re: Idea Weapons/mines
If you attempt to create a design for a weapon, you don't have to restrict yourself to designs that have never existed before. I do weapon designs now and then, and I use other sources to inspire and influence in what I am doing. Take an example like this. I used 4 already existing designs and mixed it together, that was the outcome. Just don't be afraid to use stock designs and give credits to their respective owners (as long as it's possible). If your weapon should get accepted, you can do blueprints to ease the work of the modeller(s) a bit, for example like this. And another thing: you don't have to be a professional to create designs. A pencil, paper and the will to draw something are enough.Azarael wrote:If any of you are concept artists
Just my 2 cents to concept art.
