The MARS-3

Since a number of players are dissatisfied with the shockwave grenades of the MARS-3, I considered going back to the original concept of an ice rifle. If anyone has any ideas for how the altfire grenade should then work, post here.

Fine with current stats, just remove the ability to go through walls.

Without knowing how much of the game engine you can affect in a mod, it's hard to say.
How about slowing the movements (or mouselook, or both) of nearby players for a few moments, making them easier to kill? Call it frosting - doesn't need a graphical effect necessarily.
Although that might just cause more "lag" tears...

At the risk of Izumo jumping in here with massive troll-faces everywhere, how about making the grenade disable all weaponry except melee in its radius?
It'd have application as both offensive annoyance and defensive retreating.

Don't bait him into shitposting, there are rules in this forum against that.
Slow is possible, mouselook would be annoying.
Weaponry disable is possible for all weapons at once.

List of things that came into my mind:
- Implosion Grenade (attempts to pull players towards its center either on impact or with arming delay, giving players a chance to shoot it off before it implodes)
- M46-styled proxy mines that give off a single shockwave
- Knockback Grenade (knocks back players on hit, strength falls off with range)
- Splinter Grenade / Mine (causes bleeding damage over time with low inital damage)
- Spore Grenade (causes player to sneeze once within 45 seconds after getting hit, increasing recoil and one-time visual impairment)
- Homing Mini-Missile (INV's Warlord homing rocket style)
- Electric Shock-Grenade (visual impairment like getting hit from FMD with movement reset)
That's all I could think of now.
