So let me understand some stuff here:
1) Derp is taking BW weapons and modifying their code to work with different characteristics.
2) He mixed the different anims of other weapons into your "New" weapon, as the laser or the scope of one weapon secondary and merge it with a x weapon primary.
3) You plan to release it to the server

We all know you have good intentions Derp, but you are using someone else's content and they might have a different opinion about it.
I would suggest to make New outer anims & sounds using as a base and example the BW weapons. Not to use their (BW) anims & sounds and refurbish them into a new combination. Why? because in such a way you will never have someone claiming to you that you used their content.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with using existing models as a placeholder while you code out a concept. Creating content like models, textures and animations is not easy, particularly when you are still learning the basics.

No harm meant, or discourage... I find it very nice Derp is doing an effort, but I am just letting him know he must ask "the owners" first... to avoid any future issues ... If you BW owners do not care, then is a go flag for Derp :) ...

You can release packages using BW assets (if they're based on BW) but you shouldn't release anything using any of the mod bonus pack assets. That includes the M4 model.

So none of the SKBP sounds? damn

EDIT: As you no longer feature in the SKBP, is it legitimate if I ask Xav and Kelly?

EDIT2: The GK45C won't be released using that model, it's only temporary.

Go ahead and ask them if you want. I said the above because RS have precedent for permitting the use of their assets to third party modders extending BW (after all, the SKBP prototypes package uses them as placeholders) but there is no such precedent for the assets of other mod authors.
