I see the gametracker server banners on the bottom of the portal page, so I d/loaded GameTracker, but when I try and join a server either through the portal or through game tracker itself, I always join as a spectator not a player.

Something I'm doing wrong? or something else.

Just start the Game itself and join the Server you wanna.

I could... but then it makes the whole point of game tracker AND the gt banner stuff on the portal completely useless doesn't it, seems more likely something I'm doing wrong, someone here must use game tracker who could advise?

It's not like it's not launching the correct game in the correct server, it's just not launching me as a player, but a spectator.

Most such programs do that. Xfire does it too unless the .ini is edited to prevent it.
