This phrase has absolutely _no_ racial dimension, despite appearances. It is a Northern British (e.g. Yorkshire) term referring to a silly person. It does not derive from nigger and should not be considered racist at all.

Have used this word a lot in the army, used against whites, blacks, gingers, asians etc. It never had a racial dimension to it.

I'm sorry if It came across as racist but at least in some parts of England I think it's deemed ok to use as a slur, non racial of course.

Why lie, Hamish? Just google "nigggggggggggggggg" and see for yourself. And you know damn well aware that we don't tolerate racial slurs here.

Hmm, originally I thought it was a cheap excuse just to bypass racism, but I googled various forms of 'nigggggggg', 'niggggggggggg' and 'niggggggggggggggggggggg' and didn't really find anything conclusive or offensive.

Hell I did find this though!

That's exactly my point, I did not mean it as a racial slur, having been a member of the "banned club", I know it is imperative not to commit acts which lead to a ban.

I find it disrespectful that you accuse me of lying, in the UK, in some parts at least, the word nig is not a racial slur, but just a slur.
The Czech republic have some practices that if used/committed here in the UK that would be deemed illegal, I.E, age of consent being 15 in your republic vs 16 here in the UK.
If you were to have sex with a 15 year old here in the UK, you would be branded a sex offender, however in the Czech republic, you would be fine.

In an ever globalising world, I don't think it's fair to assume things just because it is deemed offensive somewhere whereas in other places it is not.
