Hello, before i join a game it says downloading for the map..

i assumed that once downloaded i could also play these maps offline with bots when not connected to the net...

i assumed wrong...

Is there a way to download all the maps on the server to keep them on the computer and play them offline?
It should also make loads quick for future games.

Many thanks..

Google 'UT2004 Cache Extractor', and then use that program to move the maps (and related packages) to your UT2004 folders.

You need to extract the maps from cache.

Thank you so much guys.

I love the online maps...

will this also save mods and things aswell?

online has a mode where you can freeze someone when you kill them and then someone has to stand near them to free them... can i also get this for offline play? using UT2004 Cache Extractor?

Thanks again, im playing unreal 8 years late but its still awesome... (in the past my computer wasnt good enough)

You have a link in this topic: http://www.ldg-gaming.eu/viewtopic.php? ... tor#p19474

I made a post one day about the software to use (well the one suggested above and some other stuff), but I need to update the links because it refers to the old forum address D=

what i usually do is:
* open up the cache.ini and find the filename/map
* then i find the .uxx file linked to the filename/map and rename in to another location (maps to ut2004/maps folder for example)
* open up UnrealEd.exe, view log monitor and then open the map you just renamed from the cache. The log will show what "packages" you're missing to properly load the map

if there is another way to find the required packages, plz say so.
