Model Showcase.

Post by Jiffy » Sat 14 Sep , 2013 11:29 am

As ollie may know I have taken an interest in modelling. I'm using MilkShape, as it is very easy to use. Right now i'm not that good, but I'll get better eventually.

My first model is for the J53. Some sort of triple barreled grenade launcher.

1512 polys and 1044 verts.

Update.

It's a sniper with 960 polys. Probably the A-91.

Milkshape is terrible for modelling.

What Azarael is trying to say is that you'd be better off switching to another modeling program before too long. Milkshape has its uses but when it comes to editing, you want to avoid it. I strongly recommend looking into Blender. Its free, its awesome, and as far as I know, any of the people still working on BW are using it nearly exclusively.

Derp,

if you are serious about modelling then you need to consider upgrading your hardware. Dump Milkshape and use a combination of Blender and Gimp for hobby work. If you want to get really serious and model for a living then consider, as Calypto said, Maya and/or 3DS Max, although you will need serious cash for those.
If you don't know where they are, then they're probably behind you.

Hidden 3D and 2D artists? In MY community?

@Cal: Blender is faster for raw modelling than Maya.
