I agree. The vehicle themselves are balanced on paper, but if you put an above average player in one, their effectiveness inflates rapidly.

Actually I agree that the concept is a failure, too. Venoms, Dragonflies (even though not as much since the combo with lolcars and being more difficult to kill the vehicle) ... both attempts to make something better, but both ultimately ending up more towards ruining the game for a typical RACE player; more like for skilled (AS) players to enjoy pwning RACE noobies (which actually was Dragonfly origin in stadium race, yes). For Dragonflies, the "extra complexity" didn't catch (shielding in the lolcar), neither the Havoc rules in Darknight.

Venoms would be good in Yro though.

I agree, Venoms are poorly coded and need to go.

Actually if you look on Venom votes, it's pretty much all AS players voting for YES on Venom (dunno about Takeo, I think he's neutral actually).

Izumo: I voted against the Venom because its simply too powerful. The BBQ bombs and the lazers are too good vs vehicles.

Ah ooopsie, I wanted to say that all players that voted YES are AS players.

I always thought dragonflies and venoms were just there "to pwn race n00bs lololol", even though dragonfllys is better balanced now.

Dont know why there are still tears about DF, its only in Sunshine now as far as I remember the RACE maplist, and its a lot more vulnerable to hit (cant do sudden turns due to stalling, one hit chance on a flyby, complexity in stearing). And I already wrote my problems with the Venom in the Venom h8 topic.

No one is criticizing the Dragonfly here, this topic is about the Venom. And fyi... the DF is also in Snowrace.
