LS-14

Post by Calypto » Sun 29 Dec , 2013 10:00 pm

Since nobody is making a thread about it, I will. Double barrel's headshot is an instant kill, and does more damage than almost all snipers. The Single barrel fire mode does about 48 damage per shot, which is 13 more than the SRS's new base damage. What weapon is the LS-14 balanced around, the M925?

If the LS-14 was this good then more people would be using it. I don't really see anyone anymore except maybe 2 people.

2 people out of 100+ players does not a trend make.

Purely IMO, feel free to disagree.

I think it's too accurate. Needs more weapon shake/recoil as well as self damage. it should overheat like the firestorm.

LS-14 always bothered me. Very accurate and deals tons of damage. Can destroy super shield in a few shots.
I'm not sure how to deal with it though. Single Barrel ist fast, spammy and a big annoyer while Double Barrels deals lots of damage. Maybe reduce Single Barrel Damage? Acts like an overpowered, mega-fast hitscan-sniper.

If you nerf the damage/firerate, what does this weapon have going for it?

X-83: High damage, deployable. Heavy knockback.
R98A1: No tracer. Small audible radius - king of stealth.
LS-14: High rate of fire. Emergency rockets.
M75: Thermal scope. High penetration. High damage. Heavy knockback.

I wouldn't use it for the rockets alone. Who would? They were nerfed recently themselves.

If it is OP it'll certainly now be used a lot more, now that it's been highlighted...

As long as the version used in Invasion isn't tampered with I don't care what you do.

Not that I'm advocating the LS-14 being changed, but it would make sense to have equally performing weapons in each game type. Otherwise it's jarring to switch servers and have the same weapon play completely differently.

Basic changes to weapons affect all servers equally, but nothing will happen for the time being.

There is a feature that scales the damage of Ballistic weapons in invasion.
