I liked Bitchslap most of those maps:D
Partly cause of cute manta killstreaks, must admit.)
But I still dont get the node destroying/building mechanism - only energy weapons works? Seemed like majority of players was using A73 (which is rly bothering me at this state, such OP). I think dmg of normal weapons should be raised on powernodes to take some effect if you dont want to have an energy weps only gametype.)

Well, it works like this:

1) Basic bullet rounds are practically useless against nodes/cores and as far as my (limited) experience goes vehicles too.
2) Explosive weapons (grenade launchers, cannons, shells, rockets, missiles, bombs, etc) all have a relatively good effect. The LAW can take out a node on Maelstrom-NV with one shot, and on stock UT2k4 maps with 3 shots (for comparison).
3) Plasma and energy weapons are very strong against both nodes and vehicles. Some weapons can heal nodes (like the link gun) - just fire at the nodes (for example - A37).
4) Fire weapons are lethal against nodes and cores - AT STREAK, flamethrower - very strong. A single FP7 can drain a whole core in 3 seconds if thrown right.

That's basically it.

Onslaught is great e---e . Just a couple of quick questions though.

A: Will there be balance changes specifically for ONS

B: Are the vehicles intended? If they are, will weapons be balanced to impact that?

C: why are the nodes in the air?

D: will more ONS maps be added (hint, hint, Alien cube

A: Yes. Nodes need more HP.
B: Vehicles are not intended. Weapons have "realistic" balance against vehicles.
C: Ping Compensation.
D: Yes.

I think all maps should have no vehicles by general rule. Better to keep things at infantry level for our community.

This new gametype sounds cool although im not a fan of vehicles. I won't be able to play ut until sometime in june/july. Will it still be on the server then?

Not many people seem to be Enjoying or even playing Onslaught. I did have the idea of Clone Bandits with ballistic weapon, wopuld be fun XD
