Post by Youpie » Mon 28 Apr , 2014 6:23 pm

Hello

I recently moved on to linux 16 cinnamon x64. After quite a lot of effort, i managed today to install unreal 2004 (31XX) on it. When I try to play on LDG assault/race server, a popup windows denies my the connection ans says it's forbiden to download the files (OMG, julyadmin or whatsnot).

On the terminal I use to lauch the game, I have the following :
RNING: ALC_EXT_capture is subject to change!

that was the first time I tried (a few clics, back and forth)

Second time, I 've had this on the terminal

So, do you have an idea? I though that perhaps there are linux players or users here. Any help would be really appreciated!

EDIT : it happens on every server, not just LDG's.

Firewall.

SOCKET_ERROR 111 = connection refused.

Also you have wrong version, latest is 3369.2.

And you should have tried that before, I would have had a feedback to see if it actually works for other distribution than Fedora.

And if you are running UT2004 on a 64 bit architecture you will face the beauty of the useless AntiTCC: your game will freeze for about 20 seconds during the check, if you find a workaround please let me know!

thank you. I've found the linux megapack upgrade and applied it,. Since then I can connect and play (yay!). So the game version was at fault.

My way of installing is simpler Oska. I simply use aoss to run the game. Anyhow, if it works and doen't bug your install, that's ok for as it was my goal. I still got to open those ports, and see why right crtl is listed ans backspace ingame. or perhaps not. I'll see. i'm glad to be able to play it without a whole windows only for that.

And ty Izumo. You spared me a lot of work finding what that lines were.

For those who'd come wandering for a solution, the install that i followed initially was that one

It's not rly complicated.
