I think Aza implemented client side muting for ya. Otherwise, bastard is nowhere near bannable on word basis, and there is no harrasment.

Use the Esc->Communication menu, but with the following caveat: since it relies on function replication to work, if a player joins whilst you are tabbed out (or if you tab out of the game while loading), information about any player who joined while you were tabbed (or when entering the game, about all players already in the game) will not be sent to you, thus preventing the mute from working on those players.
