Because people drop their phones. Doesn't look beautiful with a cracked screen etc

A cracked screen cant make anything but an iPhone more ugly.

I myself don't drop phones and don't use a case on them but I always check the durability on internet.

You can't "check" for durability. Drop it, if it overheats or explodes, it's a Samsung phone.
