What do you mean by backup? If you mean that anything was downloaded off the server, then no that didn't happen. Just the normal Minecraft backup script was started before the server was turned off to save the map.

I found a backup of the old word; it's quite old, I'm guessing. I also have the nether with that world.

Ah, I see. And it would have been too much to ask to inform ME beforehand? There was no information whatsoever about a complete system reinstall and that a complete backup was needed because the hard drives would be formatted. It would have taken me several hours to download all server files. Therefore, I would have *really* appreciated any small hint in advance that something like that was required...
