You've completely misunderstood him.

Donnie is not referring to shield jumping, but simply jumping with shield active. You can't double jump with it on, hence his comment that he can't even jump 1m. Also as per topic title.

I wouldn't be against relaxing the changes on the shield gun in assault, as a lot of time has passed.

We already tried relaxing the changes. People drop straight back into shield running because it becomes the optimal strategy. No thx.

Well the solution at the moment isn't really helpful everywhere. It's particularly problematic on the powercore into trailer objective on Mercury, as you can't jump in the box without a double jump, of which you can't do shield shielding from the stombo firing squad.

Just one example, but there's a few.

It exposes bad mapping based around the requirement of making a shielded double jump under fire, or it exposes shitty teamwork.

worst thing about this is that the mutator seems to get bugged sometimes, and then I cannot even do a regular dodge jump while not even using a shieldgun. Sometimes self damaging with shieldgun fixes this problem, but sometimes it just get completly bugged and only a suicide helps.

Actually i was referring to shield jumping, but as Aza said it's nerfed by default in Assault.
