Some lags since few days

I was wondering if I was the only one who's getting persistent lags (as packetloss) since few days...

I got 2 differents connections (real house & student house). No matter which one, I got persistent lags as packetloss (tried to restart my connection in my real house, the lags still here).

Sometimes it's fine, it's not so worse and stay 2-3 secondes for one match. Sometimes not and it's persistent..

Earl gave me a solution few days ago but the problem still here...

Any idea of what is my trouble ? It's making me mad..

Can't help you but feel obliged to point out:
Noun

lag

2: (uncountable) Delay; latency.
1999, Loyd Case, Building the ultimate game PC

Whatever the symptom, lag is a drag. But what causes it? One cause is delays in getting the data from your PC to the game server.

2001, Patricia M. Wallace, The psychology of the Internet

When the lag is low, 2 or 3 seconds perhaps, Internet chatters seem reasonably content.

2002, Marty Cortinas, Clifford Colby, The Macintosh bible

Latency, or lag, is an unavoidable part of Internet gaming.

My general impressions on playing here are that micro-stuttering comes and goes all day, every day, for everyone. We just have to live with it.

Every network will always have bottlenecks as demand changes, so ISPs have to rewire and reroute their ever-expanding networks all the time. If it continues, you could try doing a "pathping ldg-gaming.eu" from the command line and if there's packet loss on their hops then try complaining (good luck with that).

It will probably just get resolved over time anyway. My ISP was poor about 6 months ago but now is a bit better, and always seems a lot better after 10pm CET for some reason.

I will check Butch, thanks. (;

Skaldy: yeah maybe. But in fact, I don't get this somewhere else (meaning: no lag on other games and/or other servers). That's why I was wondering if I was the only one who's getting this.

Yeah, my connection is OK from UK to servers in Germany.

LDG is in France and not very good between 5pm and 10pm. Same for everyone I think.

Sad the fix didn't help; it helped mine quite a bit but perhaps it's not applicable now (it was regarding the ping compensation).

I still get some stuttering, usually at the start of playing and it improves thereafter. Aside from the fix I haven't found any way of solving this - I guess it's just a natural connection issue and you have to wait it out. Playing via WiFi also doesn't help!
