Post by Ollievrthecool » Tue 10 Mar , 2015 6:06 pm

So I just got this in the Post:

I know there was a post quite a while ago that someone played with a joystick so I thought I would give it a go with some of my games including unreal tournament 2004. I was wondering, does anyone know how to set one up? :P

There is an icon 'Game controllers' on the control panel in Windows XP/2003.
There should be something similar in newer versions.
Maybe 'Devices and printers' in Windows 7?

Also, RTFM!

I play with joystick (like an xbox joystick), but only for the movement in UT, the aiming and rest with mouse... I use a Razor Naga Mouse with 24 buttons, so reload, aim, melee... etc are set there... It is fine for BW1, but for invasion kb is easier cause you need all the enchants and translocator and other stuff fast... Lately I've moved to use a Razer orbweaver, which is quite nice and easier to do dodging and jumping. also has several advantages like key binds, macros, cojfig cloud... etc... You need a specialized kb for the same functions...
Why I was playing with a Joystick?, my wrist hurt cause I work the whole day with computers, so I used at work my left hand for mouse, and then at night my right to play.... now I do some work in PCs but I've reduced my computer time by 50%, so I came back to a kb like solution for gaming :) and no more stress in my tendons... I also play guitar, so it gives lots of stess to the tendons when I am very active in all activities.
I also stopped my joystick cause I damaged 3 logitech joysticks in 6 months by playing BW... and I have not bought another one since the last damaged... So I would suggest you Olli to use that joystick for other type of games... :)

I have two joysticks only, except:
1) One is for racing games (ala PS4 controller)
2) Other one is for FSX for crashing a 747 in attempts to land in a heavy wind fts
