UnWheel being tested right now

Post by Azarael » Tue 21 Dec , 2010 3:49 pm

As of 1:30 GMT, we're testing UnWheel. If you read this and you want to play, launch UT, go to your Community tab, then launch the mod and you can help us test for a bit.

Test ended.

A crash was had by bOnO on a certain map, so I'm looking into it; however, I believe the crashes are map-dependent, so it's not a big problem for me to fix.

The mod can't be redirected. Those guys who tried get a blank screen. They have to install it. :/ I may have a fix for it though.

This problem means that uptime for the mod will be restricted.

just downloaded and played a practise match. was 100% crap. steering was crap, and when collision with a wall your car stops. with a scorp the collision depends.
your hack is better so far.

but maby we could use the maps.

Tiny download (300 kilobytes lol) available. You can get the rest off the redirect on a per-map basis.

I really think unwheel is crap, so far ive played. Its like a cheap ass nfs clone made by a nerdish fan of the series.
The scorps are way more collision sensitive, can steer better and more smooth in driving.
Sorry but unwheel is just crap. Unless aza did some serious tweaking.

Scorps don't steer better. The spinout flaw in nitro already proved that

Additionally, you do realise that one person can't do all that work, right?

I'm honestly not interested in playing UnWheel.
Because when I open Unreal Tournament 2004 I want to play a FPS game.
If I would want to play a race game I would either run Burnout or Trackmania.

Still, we'll try it one day and see how it goes with several players and if they like it. In any case, it won't replace the Assault mode.
Its all about the game, and how you play it
All about control, and if you can take it
All about your debt, and if you can payit
Its all about pain and whos gonna make it...

We all do. But if I have the choice of "race maps" or something which actually tries to be racing, then I'll take the latter over the former.
