Weapon Special Function list

A list of weapons, along with their special functions, by category and in alphabetical order. If a weapon is not listed, it has no special function.

Melee

Combat Defibrillators

Consumes charge to create pulses which shield the user from damage, heal nearby allies and damage nearby enemies.

Katana, Claws, Nanoblade

Blocks melee attacks from the front.

X3 Knife

Throws knives.

Pistols

D-49 Revolver

Laser sight.

GRS-9 Pistol

Fires a single-shot laser beam.

MD-42 Pistol

Toggles a laser sight which shows where the weapon is pointing from the hip and reduces hip spread.

Wilson 41

Laser sight.

Submachine Guns


Fifty-9 Machine Pistol

Extends a retractible stock, increasing hipfire spread but lowering recoil.

XRS-10 Machine Pistol

Laser sight. Reduces hip spread.

Assault Rifle

AK-490 Battle Rifle

Launches or reloads the ballistic knife attachment.

M50 Assault Rifle

Deploys a camera to a nearby surface. The display of this camera will be shown in the viewing screen under the M50's rear sight. Pressing Weapon Special again will switch to a full-screen view through the camera, which can then be rotated using the mouse, and pressing the key again will return to your current view. You may retrieve a camera by facing it and pressing the Use key. Enemies can deactivate the camera with weapon damage - if this occurs, it must be retrieved before it can be placed again.

Sub-Assault Rifle 12

Retractible stock. By default, the S-AR has tighter than normal hipfire and high recoil. Deploy the stock to increase hipfire radius and decrease recoil.

Energy Weapon

Dark Star

With 5 souls, Weapon Special enters a daemonic frenzy. Speed is increased by 50%, jump height increases dramatically, the range and damage of the melee weapon increase by 50%. Damage taken is reduced by 40%. Two new firemodes are available: Immolate, dealing damage over time, and Fire Bomb, a projectile area of effect attack dealing high damage to enemies within the radius. Soul power will drain during this effect.

Nova Staff

With 5 souls, Weapon Special grants the power of angelic flight. The player can fly and the W and A keys will move in the direction the player is currently looking. The melee weapon gains +50% range and damage. Damage taken is reduced by 40%. Two new firemodes are accessed: God Strike, dealing 200 damage with a lightning bolt but requiring aim, and Chain Lightning, dealing ~40 damage per second to all enemies in the radius of the attack. Soul power will drain during this effect.

Shotguns


MRS-138 Shotgun

Activates a tactical light, illuminating the area in front of the player and picking out enemies more clearly.

Ordnance


G5 Rocket Launcher

(A quick explanation of how the G5 works:
Normal fire: Straight rocket
Firing with altfire laser on: Guided rocket
Firing at location with G5 scope: Mortar rocket impacts destination)

When firing in mortar mode, provides a view through a camera on the front of the rocket. Not particularly useful.

Heavy Anti-Materiel Rifle

When using the HAMR's scope in deployed or standing mode, fires a "simulated" projectile, which shows on your screen the path the real projectile would take if it was fired from this weapon rotation, and the resultant explosive radius which increases the further the projectile travels. Useful for preaim, not great in Freon due to the anticamp killing you before you can use it.

Sniper Rifles

M75 Railgun

When using the Railgun scope, Weapon Special switches to a thermal mode, which provides range-based thermal vision of all players, allied or enemy, as orange blocks on a green background. The Railgun is capable of penetrating walls, so this mode can be used to kill enemies through walls. Beware of wallhack accusations.

SRS-900

Affixes a suppressor, reducing damage over range and reducing weapon report.

X-83 Sniper Rifle

Enables a form of thermal vision, highlighting any enemy targets within a certain distance of the crosshair.

Grenades

Weapon special will pull the pin of the grenade, allowing you to "cook" it before throwing.

He´s not the only one abusing this bug/feature for reaching places no one else can.
Hiding there on Freon till his team won the round or shooting down from buildings no
one can reach.

I don´t wanna blame this special player. He´s using it cause it´s possible.

Any suggestions ?

I admit it's a problem. The jump functionality of that weapon is intended, but using it in that manner is not acceptable. I will have a discussion with Calypto about it.

What about adding selfdamage when shooting on a wall/ground ?

You can use Railgun special as a wallhack against campqueror (and others hiding in a similar manner).

Possible...but i dont like to equip the railgun (wich i never use except tdm) the whole round just to get rid of a camper ;)

Finally a handbook for all those weapons. Even if some trolls will troll, thanks. Should be helpful for everyone.
